Jowls are the soft sagging that develops along the jawline, blurring its clean edge. Mild jowling can be improved by restoring support to the jaw and cheeks, which we assess within our chin and jawline sculpting.
Jowls form as the face loses volume and skin elasticity, so the cheek descends and the tissue settles along the jawline. Loss of jaw and cheek support and gravity all contribute. Genetics influence how early and how much they appear.
They usually appear from the forties and fifties, sooner in some through genetics or after weight loss. People often notice the clean line of the jaw blurring, or a little sagging developing on either side of the chin.
Mild jowls can be softened by restoring support and sharpening the jawline. This works best early. Significant jowling with a lot of loose skin cannot be removed with filler and may need a surgical option, and we will always be honest if that would suit you better.
