The Russian technique places filler vertically, working from the base of the lip upward in small amounts, rather than along the body of the lip. This builds height and lift and emphasises the Cupid’s bow, giving a defined, heart-shaped result rather than a wider one. It is a more detailed method that can involve more swelling early on, and it suits certain lip shapes better than others, so we assess whether it is right for you at consultation.

What to Expect After Your Treatment

Avoid touching or pressing the area for the rest of the day, skip strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat (saunas, sunbeds) for 24 to 48 hours, and sleep slightly elevated if you notice swelling. Mild tenderness or bruising settles within a few days. Full aftercare guidance is on our aftercare page.
